Consider exactly what you want in your estate plan

It is never too late or too early to get your estate plan set up. Whether you are 18 or 81, creating an estate plan can help your loved ones to handle necessary tasks while they are still mourning your loss. It also gives the chance to make your exact wishes for your estate known without a doubt.

Benefits of co-parenting

Sadly, divorce is a common occurrence in Oklahoma. Working out child custody and visitation can be very stressful. In child custody disputes, the Oklahoma law courts use a philosophy of “what is the best interest of the children.” In most cases, the best interest of the child is to have a relationship with both parents. Fortunately, if parents can work out an acceptable parenting plan, then the courts do not have to step in and make arrangements that might not be good for all the parties involved.

Estate plannning and your business

Estate planning is often thought of as dealing with heirlooms and life insurance payouts once you have passed away. Your business should be handled correctly, though, too. If you have witnessed someone's business fall into the wrong hands after his or her death, you have an idea of what you want to prevent.

Third senator from Oklahoma facing sex assault charges

Oklahoma state senator Bryce Marlatt, (R-Woodward) has been accused of assaulting a female Uber driver who gave him a ride back to his hotel on June 26. The driver filed a report with the Oklahoma City police two days after it allegedly occurred, stating that the senator grabbed her and kissed her neck as she drove towards his destination.

You must consider whether you are taking the necessary steps to ensure your finances are in order for a comfortable retirement and adequate inheritance for your heirs. No matter what your income or net worth is, it is important for you to have an estate plan in place.
